The office of California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Thursday that it has signed a new gaming compact with the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. The new, 200-page agreement, which replaces a compact signed in 2012, doubles the number of authorized slot machines at Graton Resort and Casino, from 3,000 to 6,000. The deal comes as the tribe is advancing plans to enlarge not only its gaming floor but its hotel space, positioning itself as an even more dominant player in the local hospitality market and California's $8 billion annual tribal gaming industry.
